Florence, the land of art, history, romance, renaissance, and charm was astonishingly the perfect place for Farida and Mohamed to finally take their vows. We all know that a destination wedding has become like the new thing for some years now, but FLORENCE?! This is a serious, going the distance, kind of wedding. The happy couple did not just think out of the box, they thought out of the whole continent, bringing us to why we chose to write about this magnificent wedding.
This article is merely a simple attempt to congratulate the lovely couple on their brilliant choice of place and on their harmonious matrimony. Such appreciation for elegance, art, history, and pure beauty must be celebrated, highlighted, and shared with our readers. Selecting a city that once hosted art pioneers and cultural giants like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Dante, Machiavelli, and Galileo, has to be an enough clue as to why this is no coincidence in choice.

The talented photographer Remon El Markiz described his experience photographing Farida and Mohamed during the whole three-day wedding celebration as a “magnificent weekend spent in Italy capturing this beautiful couple”. On the first day, Markiz enjoyed his dinner with family and friends “in the heart of the city of Florence at Obica restaurant”. The next day marked the actual wedding party, which took place at Vincigliata Castle and went on from morning till late at night where “the lovely spirit was all over the place”. Having a destination wedding means there has to be an after-party. Hence, on the third day, a party was held at a private villa.
Talk about romance, a medieval ambiance, and an exquisite architectural piece of art! Vincigliata Castle was built back in 1031 by the Vinsdomini family. However, in the 17th century, it was ruined and destroyed only to later be saved and rebuilt by Lord John Temple in 1840. Sir John fell in love with the medieval castle and found it to be precisely the perfect place for him to invite all his noble friends. Till this very day, the castle continues to host many social and cultural gatherings and events.
A formal/traditional themed wedding reception took place in the castle’s magical gardens, which were whimsically decorated with ornate flower arrangements, candle sets, posh seating, and a grandiose fountain placed right at the center of it all. Jazz musicians did the honors of delighting the bride, groom, and their guests till the end of the reception. The dance floor, on the other hand, was set in an indoor hall where a disco ball hung from the ceiling lighting the entire place as everyone danced their hearts out till the end of the night.
The bride and groom matched the style of the wedding with their defined outfits. Farida went for an exquisite mermaid cut with a high neckline gown splendidly beaded with sequins. Her hair was tied up in a gorgeous up-do highlighting the dress’s neckline and her make-up beautifully exhibited her flawless face. The look was completed and sealed with a white pomander bridal bouquet. Mohamed opted for a neat, classic black suit and bow tie, sleek hair, and a slick beard.
